That's my little one.. Anushka! She is all over the house making all kinds of noices and also the little tinckling with her ancklet bells... and when she sleeps, the whole house is so silent!! (not really as the older one over compensates!)

Orange Eye
I love the eye (Especially when it comes very crisp on the camera!).. also the colors on the neck are very interesting (they are not saturated.. as natural as they were!)

What a Catch
I was quite lucky to catch the kingfisher in the first place and to top it i could catch it eating its meal :D.
This was captured on the ganpatipule beach (i am running out of the photos from that trip now.. time to go on the next shoot :D)

Times stops for 30 Seconds
This was a 30 sec. exposure with the help of the tripod. what interesting is the two color lens flare on each side of the frame!!
ZERO edits apart from crop and frame!
About Title: frankly ran out of creativity.. somehow wanted to show-off that this was a 30 sec exposure (not sure why :D)

I Quit
Inevitable end state for everyone (be it a boat or be it a man).. you can't change the destiny.. what matters is how much you could sail before you say "I Quit"
Processing: tried a hdr-like effect in gimp to get the sky color and also the details of the broken boat!
Waste or Treasure
Sea just throws out these things as "waste"... it can turn out to be a treasure for the seeker of beauty!

Eagal Flying High
As the sky was too bright it was difficult to get the underneath of the eagle well exposed..which has caused the grain.. had the choice to denoise but that would have killed the details.. so going ahead with the grainy version.
Can't stop shooting Hibiscus!
How can you escape the temptation to shoot such a lovely flower .. any color.. open/folded or just the tip of it dangling!!
Craters
The moon looked too good to avoid 1 shot!! Also had to try the tripod my uncle gave me to use.. its a old sturdy piece of metal! 300 mm full zoop still had to crop a bit to get the larger view.
Shot in RAW little bit of processing in picasa.

Devine Konkan (India)
This was one of the scenes on the Ganpatipule-Ratnagiri sea-side road. One of the most beautiful roads by the sea i have traveled.. MUST SEE for anyone going on the konkan trip.

Smiling Eyes
This guy was sitting on a road side "thela" (tea stall) in a small town by the highway called "Pali" in Konkah (Maharashtra, India).
I wanted to take a portrait with more than 200 mm (as promised to my friend Anshum)
This guy looked like a willing candidate and he agreed for the photo with a smile!!
Zero editing except converting to B/W in picasa.. not even highlight / shadow change this time :D
Underprivileged Child??
I saw this and thought...
.. what if the soil is not fertile...
.. what if the air is dry..
.. what if there is no water...
I want to grow!!
Isn't it similar to the struggle of thousands of underprivileged children we see with our own eyes and do NOTHING?
Not sure if others can see what i could in this picture!

Camouflage
This is a VERY VERY TINY crab.. not even a centimeter long (you can guess that by the proportion of sand-grain to its feet.. and this is very fine beach sand.
I loved the way its completely hiding in the sand barely visible with its size, color and speed.
When i pulled out my camera to shoot this guy and sat down.. somehow it STOPPED moving completely.. may be it was scared and this was the tactic to camouflage!!
again.. full 300 MM, almost no cropping and only slight contrast adjustment!! i love its eyes!!
Ready.. Steady.. Go
This was a dark butterfly but i was amazed by the amount of detail on the wings (or flaps.. whatever!)..

Sitting on the beach is not always fun!
This boat was waiting on the beach for a long time to get into water..
Sitting Pretty
This bee-eater / green-sparrow was there on the beach for all the 3 days. (this i mean few of these!). Very few times it actually sat down peacefully.. thankfully when it did, i had my camera and had already mounted my 300mm lens! so what was left was to compose and click!
This one did take a bit of post processing in GIMP. This was shot on cloudy day at 7:30 in the morning .. lack of sufficient light causing grain.. but i can live with it!
What i love is the coconut-tree leaf at the background barely visible but still you can make out! Ofcourse the bird is pretty anyway.
(ah.. i write too much :D)
Take a step.. Unwind & Relax
Again.. on the ganpati-pule beach.. someone decided to unwind and feel the "sand".. I don't know how, but i decided to capture the moment! As simple!
I think the single foot-print makes this shot for me!! what do you think?

Melting Down
Just realized that landscapes look great with 18 mm (even with 10 mm for those with big budgets) but only a 300mm lens can capture the sun "football size" melting down in the sea.
This one captured on west coast of India (Ganpatipule, Maharahstra)... the white patch at the bottom is clean-white-wet sand reflecting sunlight)
This was a virgin private beach attached to the "Tranquility" resort where i was put up for 3 days...

(not advertising.. but its totally WORTH it if you are not in a hurry!)
(humm.. just realized that i am starting to write blogs below the photos :D)
Joy
This is my son and my sister-in-law having ball of a time on Ganpatipule beach in Konkan (India).
Yes.. i made them jump a few times till i got both of them in air at the same time.. and they did not mind giving as many shots i need.. they were just enjoying it!

You Beauty
My first "meaningful" upload with the new 70-300mm apo-dg sigma macro lens!! Believe me its worth every rupee (or dollar or any other currency) you spend..
This one is at full 300 mm with macro mode on. Captured in my friend's garden in Ratnagiri (Konkan) India.
Look large to see the texture on the eye of the butterfly.. simply superb!
(i know its too much self praise.. but actually i am just amazed with the lens quality)

Blossom (Indian Autumn)
Some unbelievable pink bloom in front of my parent's house in Warje (Pune).. the whole hill is full of pink blossom leaf-less trees currently... the scene is just too good

Pool Side Flowers
Nice flowers in the garden around the pool in my building!! love the bokeh its created from light reflecting from the pool water. Very unusual to see blue background for a flower.. so not sure how many people will like it!
Young India
Captured during the republic day function in my building.. that's my son holding the flag.
Long live india.. long live its peace
