Yes.. finally i am a proud owner of a raynox lens!
And this is the first image with my Raynox... Soon after playing a lot with reverse lens i realized that its good but its inconvenient... especially for insect macros who can "fly"... a Raynox with Sigma 70-300mm can be a deadly combo.
Technical:
- Camera: Canon 1000D
- Lens: Sigma APO DG Macro 70-300 + Raynox DCR 250
- Focal Length: 70mm
- Exposure: ISO 400: 1/125 s : f/4.5 (that's why its so thin DOF.. but the light was not enough to increase the DOF) :(
- Hand-held
- Place: Citi Hall Park New York 7:30 PM
Post Processing:
- UFRaw - Exposure, S-curve, Crop, Saturation, crop , rotate 23degrees
- GIMP - Recover shadow and highlight, USM
- Noiceware - kill the noise (and unfortunately it kills the EXIF too !)
- FastStone - Resize + Signature

Got Some Honey?
Time to shift gears... back to nature!!
This one is from Central Park New York on Sunday. One of the BEST in-city parks i have been to...
Another "To Do" shot for me ... wanted to catch a bee in flight either taking off or landing on flower with legs prepared to land or take-off..
This one is actually the Take Off one (though the title says otherwise!).
Consider myself VERY LUCKY that this one came out so well... my primary focus was on the flowers which the bee was sitting on it... and it suddenly took off when i clicked (after giving me some nice shots sitting on the flower!)
Tech Funda:
300mm zoom (obviously!)
f/13 AV mode
1/350s (auto based on AV mode)
ISO 640 (Auto)
Processing:
1. GIMP (extended the upper portion little to give some head-room)
2. GIMP Curves / high-pass
3. Noiseware Denoise
4. FastStone Rezide / Border / Signature

30 Seconds of Bliss
One of the photos from the Brooklyn Bridge series... not a panorama for a change!
18 mm : 30 Sec : f/16 : ISO 100
Totally love the rock and at 30secs the silk like smooth water on the rock is something that fascinates me!!

Brooklyn Bridge, NY
This had to happen.. i was not going to come back without capturing the beauty of Brooklyn Bridge!! So what if i had to change 3 trains and walk 45 mins to get to this spot!! With painful feet and filled heart... i am all set to say good-bye to New York in 3 days from now!.. especially after this shot.
Technical Junk: 3 shots (30 sec : f/11 : ISO 100), some minimal pp in gimp.
View On Black
Here is the shot i took when i reached this place (before walking down between two bridges:
And then alternate nano... this one was REALLY low to the water... so low that i had to protect the lens from splashing water with my hands! Same exposure!

Into-the-Sun: Statue of Liberty
Finally went to the statue-of-liberty island today.. i had planned to take a "different" perspective to this famous (and over photographed) statue.. so did a couple of experiments... the sun was just right to capture the "star like" glare and the lighting on the back of the statue was pretty nice as well..
Here is another perspective

Dream Shot (New York Again)
If i had a dream shot... it has to be "THIS"... New York Sky Line + Full Moon + Water Front (Yea... that's the magic of place called "Exchange Place")
(8) Eight 18mm shots, each at 20 Seconds exposure f/16 ISO 200... on 6 inch tripod..
Its quire funny the way i captured it... i had to literally go under the water-front grills to keep my tripod... kicking myself for not bringing my tripod from india.. but there are always "workarounds".
Please see this on original full screen view! picasaweb.google.com/yogendra.photography/NewYork#slidesh...

New York from Top
Highly recommended to View On Black
New York from top of (86th floor) Empire State Building. the roof top was SO crowded i could barely stand there for 11 mins & 30 Secs and took about 15 pics (time thanks to my first and last photo timing difference.. hehehe!!). There is another one with the moon in the sky.. will try to crank that up soon too.
Technical Information:
Two photos stitched together for Panorama view. Both taken at 18mm with exposure: 10 Sec (mini 6 inch pocket tripod :), f 22 & ISO 400.
Stitching in Autostitch + Some curves / exposure adjt in GIMP + noise correction in Noiseware community edition
Here goes another pano.. it so happens that i like this one better than the above one.. just personal choice or may be the Moon is adding up the magic...
Moon Shot
View On Black
Another one from the empire estate building... i just could not leave the moon out of this frame... i would have loved it little bit right but had to get it in corner to include the two tall buildings in frame...
Some times... 18 mm is not wide enough!!.
Trying HDR without going overboard!

Seagull Portrait (New York)
Zero Cropping.. At 300 mm but still you would imaging how "Close" i was to this seagull and he was not bothered at all... of course he is used to people in New York!!

4
There was a nice-little air show when we went to Liberty Statue yesterday... i thought 4 of them together will look quite interesting.
needless to say: all shots at 300mm

Manhattan Skyline
Manhattan Skyline soaking in sunset-light... i figured... this is this is the best way to capture as much skyline... also the blue sky and blue water are striking symmetry!!
I wish there were clouds as yesterday's train shot today... but was not to be! Never mind.. this view is beautiful enough :D

Spread the Wings and break the shackles
This one is from Pashan Lake shoot with Andy.. This is RED WATTED LAPWING in mid flight.. i guess i am getting the knack of birds in flight with my Sigma 70-300 lens
Sky was too flat.. so clouds introduced from another shot.. some people may take it as cheating.. let me know your thoughts..

Stacking Try
Taking stab at the recent "popular" picture.. as pointed out by many and also our guru "Anvay" it was too shallow DOF so here is my FIRST try at stacking... with combine zm with just to base images (when the standard is 6 to 20 images).. may be next time!

Putting notes to display what's coming from where!
New version is out combinezp on 6th June.. installed older version for this image will try the newer one now!

Any Guess?
2 Explored in two days.. what next... feels good but we also know even a blank page can make it to explore... hence its important to keep experimenting and work on "photography" and not on "comments views and favs"...
thanks for reading... for those who cared.. its melting ice cube.. (almost about to crumble.. very tiny!!) Same reverse ring circus.. done couple of days back.

What's up dude?
My choice from Macro session by P@P at sinhagad .. thanks to Anvay!!
This is a rainbow fly..(name thanks to Anvay again!)... everyone was shooting from side.. i chose to go bang in front.. will wait to see which angle turns out to be the best.
shot with Anshum's Raynox 1.5x on my 300mm lens
Also putting the series of 10 pictures, mostly with reverse ring on in the same post! hope you like some of them!
Other notable ones in this session!! (can't put all them on flickr.. 200 limit :D)
Most of these are not yet processed properly (just putting up signature and cropping in picasa.. still to work on the other aspects in gimp!!). Will reupload some of these on picasa as they "mature".
And a bird too
