I always wish i could do this, especially when i am stuck in traffic jam :D
I love the translucent body of a snail and firmly attached shell..
Yet another front page for me.. with this photo :D

It was quite interesting & contrasting to see a lone tall tree in the middle of rice farm!
Taken off old pune-mumbai highway yesterday late afternoon... the whole place is GREEN.. there is no other color in the sight thanks to heavy rains over past few weeks!
HDR (from single RAW).. trying not to go overboard!
Fly a day.. keeps damselfly healthy, flying and shiny! :D
He finished the fly within the span of 3 quick clicks on my camera.. that's fast eating!
Shot from Saturday morning macro shoot @ Pashan Lake
I also had "Achievement" as alternate title for this one!
Another interesting shot from yesterday's macro shoot with Anshum and Anand @ Pashan Lake.
This is a white leaf beetle... trying to climb on a flower stem...
What i like most about this one is the "cute face" almost like the ones in Disney animated movies... i am sure they took inspiration from these beetles.
Also this beetle has a plastic like transparent shell.. see few more pics of the same guy in comments below.
Few more shots of the same semi-transparent beetle
1. Just before he made it to the top
2. On white flower
3. On Green Leaf
Damselfly..side view..
Shot from this morning macro shoot @ Pashan Lake (Pune) with Urban Prowler (http://www.flickr.com/photos/anshum_m)and Anand J (http://www.flickr.com/photos/anand-j/)
I could barely fit the full insect with complete focus into the 70mm with raynox.. Bit more space on left could have helped!!
Raynox + Pop-up-flash diffuser rocks and so does the Pashan Lake.. You can go there for birding / sunrise / sunset or now for insects!
Here is another shot of the same damselfly when he landed on a leaf instead of a flower!
From the achieves... on p&s
Macros are popular & satisfying individually.. but i need to get out of the "popular fishing net" and continue developing other parts of my photography as well!
Dangerous looking dragonfly... shot @ with 300 mm.. no.. this is not raynox... just plane sigma 70-300mm!!

Its not just the film-stars and models strive for.. you can find lot of examples of "perfect size zero" in nature...
This time its red ant (लाल डोंगळा) from konkan.. shot taken in Alibag.. with my Macro Kit.. ofcourse!
Black background is natural thanks to the flash on the subject and other grass leaves being slightly distant (well few centimeters away is also "distant" in macro")
Another out-take of the same red ant..
Falling
Pano of 11 shots.. earlier i was taking pano with landscape shots.. till i saw the "GURU" soumitra taking the pano of vertical oriented shots.. and i realize that it works best :)

overflowing small water reservoir on the way to Alibag from pune.. just off express high-way.
Thanks to bumber monsoon this year
SOOC photo! (was too lazy to even change the lens to 18-55... so this one taken at 70mm!)
Morning Dew on Spider Net.. simple & delicate
Light thanks to rising sun and modified pop-up-flash
Anshum wrote to me 2 days back:
"The other day i found an ant in my room and it was asking for your address. Seems there is a wedding in its family and they are looking for a photographer : )"
I thought for a while and accepted the wedding photo shoot.. for free (with an agreement that i will not kill them!).
The wedding was early in the morning to take advantage of the morning dew!
requesting your blessings for the newly wed
Couple of out-takes:
1. If i fall on this .. i am dead
2. Button Eye
Early Morning Dew Drops captured on my Rayonx with the help of the modified plastic-soda-bottle flash diffuser.
Another macro shot from
P@P Mega Shoot
Another one from P@P Saturday Mega Photo Meet!
Boy.. did we have fun!
Almost an SOOC shot from the P@P shoot during the weekend
Of course.. Raynox and my by-now-famous soda-bottle flash diffuser!
