Wolf Spider (i think!!) killing baby mosquito.
Canon 1000D + Sigma APO-DG-MACRO-70-300+ Raynox DCR 250.
One of the toughest macro shots for me. Nikhil Walvekar pointed out this spider which was hanging upside down from leaves... when i captured it.. realized it was actually with the kill (its so small that you cannot make that out with bare eye!!).
Focusing was biggest problem (looking upword at the sky and focusing 1 mm at a time :D).. so Nikhil helped by supporing my elbows.. Fortunately i could get the wing and the eyes in the same plane of focus!!
This is ZERO CROP !! that's a bonus :)

This one is taken with 18-55 (kit lens)... hand held, no flash. Key is manual focus (lock focus to minimum distance and focus on the flower by moving your body!)
Who say's 18-55 can't give you good macro shot..

Full-moon setting on the hills on the foreground of Temghar dam lake.. what a view it was..
First rays of sun giving some color to the mountains and the water!!
Canon 1000D + Canon 18-55 kit lens + Wire-tripod rested on dam-pillars
EXIF: 28mm.f/13.ISO100.1sec exposure.
Early morning shot from Temghar dam this sunday with Amit Shindore and Pranav Peshwe.
I was lucky to get two buses crossing the bridge and taking the twisting road at the same time and was also lucky to be having my small wirepod with me :) (which costs some 5 USD but is priceless for me :)

Taken on third day of the exhibition. I was there early to get the hall cleaned and as soon as i entered, i was welcomed by the run-rays.. could not help but to capture them on my camera!

Unexpected guest at Drushtikon 2011.
Clicked with Samsung ST100 (point and shoot) and with its inbuilt flast (without diffusion) during preparations of D11.
(wish i had held a white paper to diffuse light)
This guy freaked everyone out by sitting on the carpet... while i was kicking myself for not carrying my DSLR and Raynox.
But i think Samsung ST100 gave decent result!

I had clicked this photo early this month, with a preference to process it with texture, finally decided to do that today :)
Hope few will like it!
Interesting fact: this photo was taken with 70-300... with 18-55 the sun looked too small so had to shift to telephoto and go long way away from the beach to get the sun in perspective with the cycle!! (was lucky to find someone with cycle anyway :) )

this shot is all about the bokeh... well the flowers are there... to add to he beauty :)
This was a "lazy shot" taken from passenger seat.. but i have reasons to believe that this was the best position i could have been for this shot :)
Taken in Amboli Ghat on way back from Tarkarli earlier this month!
Canon 1000D + Sigma APO-DG-MACRO-70-300

i must say.. focusing on eyes of a spider hidden deep into a thick web (mess)... was pretty hard... it looks scary but i am happy with the result... any suggestions to make it better?
BTW... this is with bare Sigma-apo-dg-macro.. without Raynox.. and with bare camera pop-up-flash... TAKE THAT!! :)

i can't stop clicking those... one of them even made it to Drushtikon.. even then who can resist clicking them when they are so colorful and so cooperative!
Clicked without rayox.. bare Sigma 70-300 with on-camera-flash (without diffusion).
190mm.1/200s.f/18(ya... that's right!).ISO:100

When the sprinklers are switched on.. lotus start to look even more beautiful with the drops on the petals and stray water drops flying around!!
f/5.6.1/400s.ISO:800 (needed it to be so high to capture crisp shot around sunset .. so had to resort to noiseware to kill some noise!)

Taken at Tarkarli (long the river!)..Walked 4 kilometers along the river in pitch dark (thanks to a local guide) to capture this picture.. i think worth it :)...
We had actually gone there in the hope to find some birds but only things we found were butterflies, lots of them.. and i did not complain.. can i?

Boats in the sea at the time of sunset is always wonderful site!!
ALAS.. the sun never touched water :( else the semi-circle with boat in it would have looked out of the world!!
Sky looking too dark??

Such a large spider, still camouflaged so well in the bush that the web was almost invisible... You will ask this is very much visible... well, that's after i asked my friend (Javid) to stand behind the web with his dark-blue / black jacket on.. giving nice smooth b/g.. with there was a large green handy.. but black is not bad either!!
This is NOT Raynox.. clicked with Sigma APO DG MACRO 70-300 (with macro mode on to let me get in as close as possible).
Hope you will enjoy the picture as much as i enjoyed "making" it!!
Very little edit in GIMP (Crop, Levels & USM, that's it)
